Santa Teresa, doctor honoris causa
          Monday 3rd August 2015 The distinction of doctor honoris causa is an honorary title granted, in this case by the Catholic University of Avila to St. Teresa of Avila as its Patron St., within the framework of the anniversary of the fifth centenary of her birth. This solemn tribute is backed by the rest of the Universities in attendance at the Interuniversity Congress “St Teresa of Avila, Maestra de Vida”: Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, Universidad CEU San Pablo, Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, Universidad Abat Oliba CEU, Universidad Católica de Valencia, Universidad Católica de Ávila and Universidad San Jorge. Doctors have been invited from 26 countries; those who wish, may attend wearing their academic colours and form part of the entourage with the university authorities present. The Master of Ceremonies, entrusted with the role of giving the laudatory address will be the renowned Dr Antonio Cañizares Llovera , who is also doctor honoris causa of the Catholic University of Avila. The response will be performed by Dr Saverio Cannistrà O.C.D., Father General of the Disclaced Carmelite order. The Rector of the Universidad Católica de Ávila, María del Rosario Sáez Yuguero, will be entrusted with the role of giving the welcoming address. The event will be enlivened with the interpretation of several classical musical pieces performed by the harpist Mrs Rosa Calvo Manzano TOP
